Dear Past President Parley Members and Members of the ALA Dept. of CT,.
With warmer weather and spring approaching, it is time to look forward to our upcoming PPP Breakfast.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Post 128, located at 16 York Ave., Hamden, CT 06357. Doors will open at 10:00 AM, and the meeting will begin promptly at 10:30 AM, followed by a buffet breakfast and the business meeting. The cost to attend is $17.00.
During the event, we will hold a "Parade of Checks" for our Education Grant. We ask that members, units, and districts consider making a donation to support the students who have applied for grants to further their education. Grant winners will be announced during the meeting.
We are also excited to host a "Past Presidents Baby Picture" contest. Please bring some spare change to vote on the identities of the babies in the photos. Additionally, we will have a drawing for gifts provided by Past Presidents and enjoy entertainment by Past President Rosemarie LaBossiere.
Please plan to join us for this fun-filled day. A registration form is included; please return it by April 17, 2026. Please note that tickets will not be available at the door.

If you can donate, please do so. The more money we raise, the more PPP Memorial Education Grants we can give. The cost of the buffet breakfast is $17.00 per person and will include: juice, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, biscuits & gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Dessert and entertainment will also be provided. Attached to this Auxiliare is the reservation form to be sent with your check. The DEADLINE to register and pay is April 18, 2026

If you have not paid your 2025-2026 PPP Membership Dues of $4.00, please send them into the office now, though you will be able to pay at the door. Only members that have paid their annual dues will be entitled to voice and vote. The PPP committee and I look forward to seeing you and having some fun together.

All Past Unit, District and Department Presidents are invited to our Spring Parley Luncheon to be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at 11:00am. All ALA members and Guests are also invited to attend.
A Special Guest of our Department President is planning to attend. Please welcome and get to know our Eastern Division National Vice President from Washington DC - Lauren Lloyd.
*** All PPP Dues sent to the office must include the names of the Members you or your Unit are paying for. Membership cards will be sent or given to you at the Parley if you attend with a Member’s name on it. No blank cards will be sent to Units. If you have sent in money but no names please forward the names for the amount of money sent. Members will need to show their card or be on our list to receive a paddle to vote.
Guidelines will be sent to all paid members after our deadline for the Luncheon May 1, 2025 and at the Parley for those that pay their dues that day. We will be voting on them at the Luncheon meeting.

Past Presidents,
I am pleased to let everyone know some changes were made at the last DEC Meeting and more are on the horizon. We are now a Special Committee of the Department. Just like all Committees we will be Governed by the DEC. We have a Chairman and Committee and the Parley members. We will be able to make changes at a DEC Meeting and not have to wait for one of our two meetings. We can bring suggestions from our meeting to the DEC at their meeting where the DEC will vote. This should make things much easier and time saving.
Now is the time to start thinking about donations for our Grants for students continuing their education after High School. All donations need to be in the office by May 1st or brought to the Parley Luncheon, so we know how many $500. Grants we can give. Applications for students will be available soon after Mid-Winter. More information will be sent out soon.
Our Spring Parley will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Time and place will be sent out after DEC Meeting being held before Mid-Winter Conference. Please keep an eye out for it. We have two Restaurants that are willing to work with us, my Distinguished Guest Chairman and I are going to meet with them in January. Many things are happening to have a Fun Filled Spring Parley with some business. All are welcome to attend as well as Guests. We will be honoring our Department, District 6 and Unit Past Presidents, collecting donations for our grants, luncheon, entertainment and some surprises!!!! Please everyone, save the date and join us for this awesome day!!! Our Department President Janice has invited the ALA Eastern Division Vice President and she is looking forward to meeting everyone and spending time talking with everyone. More information to come.
