What motions don’t need a second?
  1.  Point of Order – motion to follow the rules

  2. Division of the Assembly – When a hand vote or voice vote is too close, a member can ask for a rollcall vote to be taken

  3. Point of information – a motion to ask a question about the motion or business on the floor

  4.  Parliamentary Inquiry – A question about the parliamentary law or organization’s rules as they apply to the business at hand

  5. Call for order of the day – a single member can force the group to follow the agenda or members must move with a 2/3 vote to move the agenda item.
