Hi, Everyone! We are down to our last fundraiser of this fiscal year! I’d like to thank everyone who helped get everything so it could be out the door by May 15th! (Gladys, Sydney, Janice, Karl, Kim, Barbara, Lisa, Kylie and Alicia). You guys rock!!It was an impressive amount of help and it made things go quickly and smoothly. Please participate in the raffle. It is out largest fundraising event and it supports a lot of our expenses.
And as you know the expenses are going up faster than we can raise the money!! As of this writing we have 7 envelopes returned as undeliverable and that’s just week 1. Please make sure you keep in contact with your members, (the Legion calls them buddy checks) so you can keep your information up to date. I’ve updated 21 phone numbers/email addresses and found 2 deceased members. Our next project is for next year’s committee to start to put together our budget for 2026-2027. If anyone has some great fundraising ideas, we’d love to hear them! Thank you all for all you do.
Hi, Everyone! I think Spring is finally coming! April is the month of the Military Child with the 15th being Purple up Day! Just a reminder that we have Purple up shirts available to purchase. Welcome to another exciting Financial Year!! The Finance Committee worked diligently to put together a budget that we thought was fair to both the members of the Auxiliary and the Auxiliary itself. It was approved with a few adjustments. That being said, our budget is based on several fundraisers during this fiscal year and we are hoping that each member will participate in these fundraisers in order to make our budget.
The first is a Spice fundraiser. It starts, technically, on September 20th and ends on October 17th. You can start sales whenever you would like but the drop-dead deadline for the forms and payment to be to the Department Office (PO Box 266, Rocky Hill 06067-0266) is Tuesday, October 15th. These spices are from the Nutmeg Spice Company located in Terryville, CT. Robin has picked out all the spices you need for whatever holiday cooking you may do! They are an exceptional quality and the price is right! We will have pick up locations for you to pick up your spices with delivery the week of November 7th . If you have questions, please contact Robin Nightingale, 860-280-5395 or [email protected].
Another fundraiser is an American Legion Auxiliary wall calendar for 2025. It has all the important holidays and Auxiliary dates. Each month will have a beautiful “Flag” picture and the inside cover will have a picture of National Commander Jim LaCoursiere with his red cap and a brief bio. We should have them available for sale by the Program Information Conference on September 28th. They will also be available from your District President, any member of the Finance Committee and at the Auxiliary Office. We have Purple Up! Shirts; crew neck $15.00 and v neck $17.00. We will also keep selling the red or blue polo shirts until there is no more desire for them. We can only order these in batches of 24.
If you have any questions for me, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your support, Marge Sunbury, Finance Chairman 860-639-3011 [email protected]
