Thank you to all who put their trust in me as your Chaplain. I will work very hard to live up to the ideals set forth regarding the Chaplain position.
I am both humbled and excited to represent our Department this year. That being said, I recognize that the office of Chaplain is not an island. Therefore, I would like to collect your favorite poems, songs, prayers, and other devotions from across the state to share with everyone. Each district has their own submission link and their own section on our new Interactive Department Prayer Book. I look forward to seeing all of your poems, stories, songs, and prayers!
Yours in Service,
Erin Maloney

2025-2026
June, the end of year before the formality of Convention, marks the ending of President Kristin’s monthly messages to us as she has a hectic schedule for the rest of her term of office.
We pray that she enjoys this time of her service as President and wish her the best in the days to come. As she always keeps a positive attitude and has a smile for everyone, I dedicate this little poem for Laughter to her:
Bless me with laughter and an easy smile. May I put away cares more easily, and relax, May I see that laughter makes all things better. Bless me with laughter, now and always.

The month of April, the first full month of Spring. Easter is celebrated, as well as Passover. It brings to mind how children are so excited to look forward to “a new outfit” a visit from the Easter “bunny” and so outwardly happy to enjoy the season.
BLESS the children of the earth with abundance of a happy, secure life. Each child deserves no less, each child is precious as they are the future, the living legacy of our ancestors. They are the future. Amen

As the March winds blow, as the Ides of March come, and as the snowmelts (ha ha), let us give
thanks for what we have and BLESS THIS DAY.
Bless today with chances to grow with friendship and a sense of community, with work to do
and leisure to enjoy.
Let me be a positive influence on those I meet, and may I act with integrity and truth in all
things, giving the very best of myself, in all I do. BLESS THIS DAY.
Amen

Happy New Year 2026, and Happy Mid-Year (2025 - 2026). May we always keep in mind our veterans and their families, and RESOLVE to keep all of our efforts focused on our goals.
MAKE US STRONG IN SPIRIT
Make us strong in spirit, Courageous in action
Gentle of heart, Let us act in wisdom, Conquer our fears and doubts
Discover our own hidden gifts, Meet others with compassion
Be a source of healing energies, And face each day with hope and joy.
Amen

Let us give thanks this November for: the beautiful Fall foliage even as it disappears as we ready for winter, the 106th birthday of ALA, the AL Family Baby Shower (World Kindness Day), and so much more this month.
Let us remember: Veterans Day 11/11 honoring those who have “hung up their uniforms”. As always, we remember all POWs and MIAs, and hope for their return to their families.
May everyone enjoy a blessed, happy Thanksgiving. Amen

In this beautiful season of Autumn let us take delight in the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Let us bask in our own beauty and bring that to our meetings as we work for our Veterans and their families and for our communities. Always remember that peace and harmony accomplish more than strife and indifference. May blessings abound and smiles be in abundance. We can accomplish great things together.
Heavenly Father: Bless and guide our President, Kristin, as she begins her 2025 - 2026 year. Be with our servicemen and women, and keep them safe in Your care. May all our decisions praise Your name. Amen.
